Jerry Ellison Named Business Person of the Year

Jerry B. Ellison, President/CEO of JBE Inc., was named the 2008 “Business Person of the Year” at the 88th Annual Membership Banquet of the Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce held January 15, 2009 at the Hartsville Country Club.   JBE strives to provide their customers defect-free parts and services that satisfy their requirements at all times.

Primary manufacturing services include sub-assembly, vendor managed inventory (VMI), inventory management, warehousing and Foreign Trade Zone.   Other valuable services provided by JBE include distribution, sorting, kitting, sequencing, inspection, and printing.  JBE’s customers include Cummins Turbo Technology, Robert Bosch, Honda of South Carolina and Sonoco Packaging.

Mr. Ellison began JBE in 1982 in Hartsville with humble beginnings to become a prominent business leader with more than 100 employees.  Mr. Ellison has received other recognitions as well.  In 2004 Mr. Ellison was selected as the Darlington County Ambassador for Economic Development.  In 2006 JBE was selected as the “Small  Trader of the Year” by the SC World Trade Center.  More information on JBE Inc. can be found at www.jbeonline.net.
