Kimbrough Named Darlington County Economic Development Ambassador
Darlington, S.C. – January 26, 2010 – The Ambassadors for Economic Development Awards Ceremony will be held today on the State House grounds to honor the volunteers that support the economic development efforts of their communities. Participants include Governor Mark Sanford, Senate Pro Tem Glenn McConnell and Speaker Bobby Harrell. Each county selects one person to recognize.
John Kimbrough has been named the 2010 Economic Development Ambassador for Darlington County. Mr. Kimbrough is currently a human resources consultant based in Darlington. He previously held a position as the senior human resources representative with Wellman, Inc. in Darlington. Mr. Kimbrough serves as vice chairman of the Darlington County Progress, which is the private-sector financing arm of the Darlington County Economic Development Partnership. He also serves as the chairman of the Darlington County United Way, past chairman of the Darlington County Chamber of Commerce and past human resource chairman of the Pee Dee Red Cross.
“John Kimbrough is an avid champion for our economic development efforts in Darlington County,” said Roger Schrum, chairman of Darlington County Economic Development Partnership. “This recognition is well deserved.”
“John Kimbrough has been a resident of Darlington County for more than 35 years,” said Billy Baldwin, chairman of Darlington County Council. “His commitment to the improvement of this county is greatly appreciated.” |
